This table shows the class requirements for the BMI Masters or PhD for stduents who enrolled in Aut 2007 or afterwards. Students who enrolled prior to Aut 2007 may switch to these guidelines with the advice of their academic advisor.

Prerequisites in BMI are not required for entry into the graduate program |
The following math courses are required for entry into the graduate program: Calculus at the level of Math 51, 52, or 53 (at least two), AND Stats 60- precalculus statistics. Linear Algebra at the level of Math 103, 113 or HRP 259 is highly recommended. A course in applied math is recommended. |

Choose 3 classes spanning the following 5 categories for a minimum of 9 units : Probability, Statistics, Decision Analysis, Machine Learning, Experimental Design Techniques. You may take any combination of categories, i.e., 3 stats classes, OR 1 stat, 1 prob, 1 decision science, OR 1 stat, 2 prob, etc... Consult with your academic advisor about appropriate classes in Machine Learning or Experimental Design Techniques. |
