Introduction to the Biomedical Informatics Training Program

Biomedical informatics is an interdisciplinary field that combines ideas from computer science and quantitative disciplines (statistics, decision science) to solving challenging problems in biology and medicine. Applicants enter our program with many different backgrounds, so the program is designed to be flexible. Training in informatics and biocomputation is also available through other departments at Stanford, such as Bioengineering, Computer Science, and Genetics. We recommend your explore the various options to find the best fit for you.
